Scotland Outlander Tour

Imposing castles, grand palaces & mythical mansions... Discover a new side of Scotland by exploring the filming locations of the legendary TV series Outlander on this tour from Edinburgh.

Description

We'll meet at 60 High Street and begin our exploration of the filming locations from Outlander. Depart from the city into the Scottish countryside to see sites that inspired the show.

The first stop is Midhope Castle, known as "Lallybroch Castle" in the series for photo opportunities.

The next location is the medieval Doune Castle, recognized as "Castle Leoch" from Outlander, the Mackenzie clan's residence. This location also features in Game of Thrones and Monty Python.

Then, we proceed to the Kingdom of Fife, stopping for lunch in the Royal Burgh of Culross, which represents the fictional village of Cranesmuir, showcasing 17th and 18th-century architecture.

After lunch, we head to Falkland, representing 1940s Inverness, with over 28 relevant buildings from that era.

Finally, we'll visit Blackness Castle, referred to as Fort William in the series. After a day of exploring Outlander locations, we'll return to Edinburgh and drop you off at the Edinburgh bus station.

Temporary Closures

Midhope Castle will be closed on November 12, 16, 18, 26, and 28, and from December 24, 2024, to March 25, 2025. On these days, we'll admire the exterior and visit Linlithgow Palace instead.
