Imposing castles, grand palaces & mythical mansions... Discover a new side of Scotland by exploring the filming locations of the legendary TV series Outlander on this tour from Edinburgh.

Description

We'll meet at 60 High Street and prepare for a day exploring the filming locations of the famous series Outlander. Departing the city, we'll delve into the Scottish countryside, experiencing the scenery that inspired the series.

The first stop will be Midhope Castle, known as "Lallybroch Castle" in the series, where you'll have time for photos.

Next, we'll visit the medieval Doune Castle, recognized as "Castle Leoch" from Outlander, the residence of the Mackenzie clan. This site also featured in Game of Thrones and Monty Python.

We will proceed to the Kingdom of Fife, historically significant and once home to Scottish monarchs. Lunch will be in the Royal Burgh of Culross, the fictional village of Cranesmuir, where Claire faces witchcraft accusations, showcasing 17th and 18th-century Scottish architecture.

After lunch, we’ll continue to Falkland, representing the Inverness of the 1940s in Outlander, featuring over 28 buildings from that era.

Lastly, we'll visit Blackness Castle, known as Fort William in the series. After a full day of exploring Outlander locations, we will return to Edinburgh and drop you off at the Edinburgh bus station.
