St. Andrews & Fife's Fishing Villages Day Trip
At 9 am we'll depart from the meeting point indicated and leave Edinburgh crossing the Forth Bridge towards Fife. We'll pass through the village of Aberdour and then continue on to the East Neuk of Fife, an area known for its small harbours which were once central to Scotland's East coast fishing trade.
On our coastal journey, we'll stop in Anstruther to visit the Scottish Fisheries Museum. Following this, we'll head to Pittenweem, Crail, and St. Monans, which were significant fishing centres.
We will then arrive in St. Andrews, where you will have three hours of free time to have lunch and explore the cobbled streets and medieval facades. Key sights include the oldest university in Scotland, the cathedral, and the iconic golf course.
After our visit, we’ll return to Edinburgh, stopping in Falkland, known as a setting for the Outlander series, and then at Loch Leven, another filming location. Our final stop before arriving back in Edinburgh will be South Queensferry.
We will arrive back in Edinburgh at 5:45 pm.
