Estancia Cristina Hike & Boat Tour

We'll start the tour by picking you up from your hotel at the scheduled time and heading towards Estancia Cristina, where a day packed with nature and breathtaking landscapes awaits us.

We'll arrive at the Punta Bandera quay after around an hour's drive, where we'll hop on a boat that will take us to Estancia Cristina. Cruising along the Upsala channel, we'll be able to admire the enormous ice wall of the Upsala Glacier from the water. You can take all the photos you want on this 2.5-hour boat ride.

When we arrive at Estancia Cristina, you'll climb on board an offroading vehicle driven by your guide and head to a viewpoint that offers incredible views of the glacier and the Southern Patagonian Ice Field.

Then we'll set off on a 14-kilometre hike that will take us through the Cañadón de los Fósiles. This area is full of million-year-old fossils, and your guide will show you the most important ones.

Halfway through the hike, we'll take a short break to eat and recharge our batteries with a full lunch consisting of two sandwiches, a biscuit, fruit, and water. After lunch, we'll continue on our hike until we reach Estancia Cristina at 5:30 pm.

Then we'll sail back to Punta Bandera, where the vehicle that will take us back to El Calafate will be waiting for us. We'll get to the hotels after around 12.5 hours together.

Tour without Transfers

Do you want to travel to Estancia Cristina yourself? You can book without transfers. If you do, you'll have to meet your guide at the pier at the Estancia, located at Punta Bandera, at 8:15 am. On the return journey, the boat will drop you back off at the quay at 7 pm.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

You will begin the journey with a hotel pickup at the agreed time, proceeding to Estancia Cristina. The first stop will be the Punta Bandera quay, which takes about an hour by vehicle. After boarding the boat, enjoy a scenic 2.5-hour ride along the Upsala channel, allowing ample opportunity for photography.

Upon reaching Estancia Cristina, you will be transported in an offroading vehicle to a viewpoint, where you can enjoy stunning views of the glacier and the Southern Patagonian Ice Field. The hike through the Cañadón de los Fósiles covers a distance of 14 kilometers, showcasing ancient fossils along the way, all while your guide provides insightful commentary.

Meeting Point:
