See the Upsala Glacier up close on this boat ride around the Los Glaciares National Park. You can also hike through the Patagonian forests, explore Estancia Cristina, and go for a jeep ride!

Estancia Cristina & Upsala Glacier Cruise

After hotel pickup at the scheduled time, we will drive for an hour to the quay at Punta Bandera. We will board a boat and sail to Estancia Cristina, cruising down the Upsala channel for two and a half hours, approaching the glacier. Upon disembarking at Estancia Cristina, we will start a medium-difficulty hike through the area.

Your guide will assist you in crossing a Patagonian forest, where you can spot Antarctic beech trees and various endemic bird species. We will ascend to a viewpoint for panoramic views of Lake Argentino.

The route will continue uphill towards the Perros waterfall, offering stunning views of the Caterina River valley. We will visit the estancia's museum to learn about rural life and see the chapel, water mill, and other points of interest.

Finally, we will take a boat back to Punta Bandera, where a minibus will return us to El Calafate, arriving at the hotels after approximately 12.5 hours.

Lunch

You can bring your own food or book the tour option including lunch, featuring two empanadas, a main dish (lamb stew or pesto pasta), a flan dessert, a glass of wine or soft drink, and coffee or tea.

Book without transfers

If you prefer to travel to Estancia Cristina independently, book without transfers. You will need to meet your guide at the quay at Punta Bandera at 8:15 am. The return boat will drop you off at the quay at 7 pm.
