Tour Details

This trip provides an opportunity to explore the Los Glaciares National Park through a combination of hiking trails and boat sailing. After hotel pick-up, the journey will commence at the port of Punta Bandera, where the sailing trip will start along the Canal de los Témpanos of Lake Argentino.

The first stop will be at Toro Bay, followed by a 45-minute hike to observe the wildlife in the Patagonian forest, featuring diverse trees including white oaks and Antarctic beech trees. A notable sight will be a century-old guindo tree with a trunk over three meters in diameter. After reaching a waterfall for a rest, the return journey will include nearby hanging glaciers of Cerro Negro and Cerro Mayo, with a steep hike lasting about an hour. There will be a break for lunch with panoramic views.

The tour continues by sailing towards the Perito Moreno glacier, where participants will have an hour of free time to walk along the footbridges to view the almost 80-metre high ice wall. The return to the port of Punta Bandera will conclude the 10-hour tour with transport back to El Calafate.

An option to book this tour without transfers is available at a reduced price. Participants must arrive at the port of Punta Bandera by 9 am on the day of the tour, meeting at the Solo Patagonia dock.
