Activity Overview

This journey is ideal for nature enthusiasts, providing an opportunity to immerse yourself in the awe-inspiring Los Glaciares National Park. It blends invigorating hiking paths and boat excursions, allowing you to appreciate the spectacular landscapes of Patagonia from varied perspectives.

Your day begins with a prompt pickup from your accommodation, followed by transport to the Punta Bandera port, where we will embark on a boat journey through the Canal de los Témpanos within Lake Argentino.

We will first alight at Toro Bay, where a 45-minute hiking expedition awaits to explore the diverse wildlife of the Patagonian forest. As you stroll under the canopy of white oaks, Antarctic beech trees, and aromatic cinnamon trees, you’ll encounter a magnificent century-old guindo tree with a trunk measuring over three meters across!

Continuing our trek, we will reach a scenic waterfall, a perfect spot to pause and rejuvenate. On our return to the boat, we will approach the awe-inspiring hanging glaciers of both Cerro Negro and Cerro Mayo. This segment includes another steep yet enjoyable walk among the icy peaks, lasting around an hour—but we encourage you to take your time and relish the journey. We will take a moment to stop for a meal while surrounded by the stunning panoramic views.

Once again aboard the boat, we will sail across Lake Argentino towards the renowned Perito Moreno glacier, one of the most distinguished glaciers within Los Glaciares National Park. You will enjoy an entire hour for a leisurely walk along the footbridges, offering breathtaking views of this towering ice formation, which rises nearly 80 meters.

Upon our return to the port of Punta Bandera, a vehicle will be ready to transport us back to El Calafate, concluding our tour after an enriching 10-hour experience together.

This activity can also be booked without the included transfers at a discounted rate. If you choose this option, please ensure that you arrive at the port of Punta Bandera by 9 am on the day of the excursion. The meeting point is located at the Solo Patagonia dock.
