Lake Frías Hike & Glacier Boat Trip
- 12 Stunden
See one of the world's most breathtaking landscapes on our Lake Frías Hike & Glacier Boat Trip. You'll cross lenga beech forests and glacial valleys while sailing through Los Glaciares National Park.
Description
At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in El Calafate and take you to the Los Glaciares National Park, a key area in Argentine Patagonia.
We will first stop at Los Pioneros harbour for a 1-hour boat trip across beautiful sections of Lake Argentino. After disembarking at the South Arm, our hike of 1.2 miles (2 km) will lead us to the shores of Lake Frías. Then, we will board a Zodiac boat to sail to the opposite shore.
Upon arriving, we will embark on another hike of 2.8 miles (4.5 km) through a forest of hundred-year-old lenga beech trees and a glacial valley.
Next, we will proceed to the Lake Frías Superior area, known for its icebergs and panoramic views of the Dickson, Cubo, and Grande glaciers. During this segment, we will pause for a picnic lunch which includes sandwiches, a cereal bar, dried fruits, an alfajor, sweets, fruit, mineral water, and orange juice.
After lunch, we will return to the starting point via boat and the same hiking route. Expect to arrive back at your hotel in El Calafate after approximately 12 hours.
