Perito Moreno Southern Face Boat Trip & Hiking

Embark on a memorable boat adventure along the southern front of Perito Moreno, where you will glide past stunning blue ice formations and embark on a coastal hike. Join us for this unique experience.

Tour Overview

We will convene at the Bajos las Sombras dock, located just 4 miles (7 km) from the Perito Moreno glacier, before we navigate across the tranquil waters of Rico Lake.

Following approximately 20 minutes on the water, we will reach the opposite bank, where our exploration continues on foot for around 1 hour and 30 minutes.

As part of our excursion, we will have the opportunity to touch the Perito Moreno glacier. Our scenic route will lead us along the lakeshore, through a verdant forest, offering stunning vistas of the glacier. Photography enthusiasts will find countless chances to capture the beauty of this magical location.

After concluding our hike, we will return to the boat to fully appreciate the breathtaking blue ice flows from the panoramic deck.

The trip will conclude back at the Bajo las Sombras dock, where we will part ways after a three-hour journey.

Tour with Pickup Option

If you opt for this package, we will collect you from your hotel in El Calafate at 9:00 am, then proceed to the Bajo las Sombras dock to commence our boat ride.

The subsequent activities will align with the itinerary outlined above. After reaching the Bajo las Sombras dock, we will board a bus bound for the footbridges of Perito Moreno. Here, you may enjoy your packed lunch while taking in the striking views of the glacier.

After your time at the footbridges, we will return by bus to El Calafate, with an expected arrival at your hotel around 5:00 pm.

Departure Information

Upon completing your reservation, we will get in touch to confirm the activity's start time, which will be influenced by group size and weather conditions.

The tour may commence at either 7:30 or 9 am if you have chosen the pickup option. For those making their way directly to the meeting location, we will meet at either 12 or 1:45 pm.

Please provide a photo of your passport upon booking, as this is necessary for reservation confirmation.The activity is restricted to participants aged 70 years and below. It is not recommended for individuals who are overweight, pregnant, or who have disabilities, cardiovascular diseases, heart issues, or respiratory conditions.
