Perito Moreno Southern Face Boat Trip & Hiking

On our boat trip along the southern face of Perito Moreno, we'll cruise along the glacier's blue ice floes and set off on a hike along the coastline. What are you waiting for?

Tour Details

We will meet at the Bajos las Sombras port, located 4 miles (7 km) from the Perito Moreno glacier, and depart at 10:15 am across Rico Lake.

After approximately 20 minutes of cruising, we will disembark and begin a 1 hour and 30 minutes hike. During the hike, participants will have the opportunity to touch the glacier and will traverse a route alongside the lake's shore, passing through a forest with views of the glacier. Photography opportunities are available along the way.

The hike will conclude at the starting point, after which we will return to the boat to enjoy views of the bluish-ice floes from the panoramic deck. The trip will end at Bajo las Sombras port at 1:15 pm.

Tour + Pickup

If you choose this option, pick-up from your hotel in El Calafate will occur at 9:00 am before heading to the Bajo las Sombras port. The activity thereafter will proceed as described above. Following the boat trip, participants will take a bus to the Perito Moreno footbridges for a packed lunch while enjoying views of the glacier. The return bus to El Calafate is scheduled for 5:00 pm.

Tour without pickup: the boat departs at 10:15 am from the Bajo las Sombras port.Tour with pickup: pick-up from your hotel in El Calafate at 9:00 am.
