Take a trip back to the 15th century as you tour the seafaring town where Christopher Columbus prepared his second voyage to America. In this tour, we'll discover the role of El Puerto de Santa Maria in the trade with the New World.
Description
Join us at the Plaza de Toros de El Puerto de Santa María. We will begin by strolling along the Guadalete River's banks, discussing its role in the trade between Spain and the New World. We will admire El Puerto de Santa Maria's sites, such as the old pier and fish market, while exploring historical ducal and royal customs.
Next, we will visit the Iglesia Mayor Prioral in Plaza de España, built during the dukes of Medinaceli's peak, along with other grand structures nearby.
Finally, we will enter the Aranibar Palace, the oldest house of shippers to the Indies preserved in El Puerto.
After two hours exploring this segment of Spanish history, our journey will conclude back where we began.
Important
In the case that we are unable to visit a monument mentioned in the description, the visit will be replaced by another site along the tour route.
