Take a trip back to the 15th century as you tour the seafaring town where Christopher Columbus prepared his second voyage to America. This tour explores El Puerto de Santa Maria and its role in trade with the New World.
Description
Join us at the Plaza de Toros de El Puerto de Santa María. This is the starting point of the tour. We will stroll along the Guadalete River's banks, discussing its vital role in trade between Spain and the New World. The tour will include visits to El Puerto de Santa Maria's notable sites, such as the old pier and fish market, while exploring historical ducal and royal customs.
Next, we will visit the Iglesia Mayor Prioral in Plaza de España, a prominent temple from the period of the dukes of Medinaceli.
Finally, we will enter the Aranibar Palace, known as the oldest house of shippers to the Indies preserved in El Puerto.
After two hours of exploring this part of Spanish history, our journey will conclude back at the starting point.
