On this guided tour of El Romeral, you'll visit three key locations that showcase La Mancha's rich culture. You'll also see Spain's best-preserved Cervantine windmill.
Description
At the designated time, we'll meet at the Esparto Museum, the first stop on our tour of El Romeral.
The esparto grass culture provides insight into the lifestyles of Spanish families throughout different historical periods. Part of this museum is located in a traditional Manchegan house that is dug into the earth. It has been designated as an Intangible Heritage of Humanity site.
Next, we will visit the Crestería Manchega, home to Spain's best-preserved windmill. We will enter and look up at the four iconic windmills that symbolize the expansive plains, reminiscent of the time of Don Quixote.
Subsequently, we will proceed to the Ethnographic Museum, which is situated in a small subway house. Here we will view various scenes and artifacts that reflect past ways of life.
After an hour of exploring history and culture, we will conclude the tour.
