Why visit Mount Vesuvius?

Vesuvius is a notable volcano in Italy and a significant site in the Campania region. From Herculaneum, you can use this transfer to Mount Vesuvius. The Vesuvio Express bus will depart from Ercolano Scavi station at the indicated time. After 30 minutes, you'll arrive at the entrance of the Vesuvius National Park. You will have 2 hours of free time to explore the park.

During your visit, you can discover the natural features of the national park and learn about the volcanic activity of Mount Vesuvius. A visit would not be complete without climbing up to the crater, located at approximately 1200 metres (nearly 4000 feet), which provides views of the Bay of Naples.

Return to the bus is required 3 hours after pickup to go back to Herculaneum.
