Amazigh Market Tour + Argan Oil Cooperative Visit

On this tour of the Amazigh market in the Haha Region, to the south of Essaouira, we'll delve into the rural Moroccan life and visit an argan oil cooperative.

Description

At the scheduled time, we'll meet at Bab Sba to begin our journey southeast of Essaouira to the Amazigh town of Ida Ogourd. At this weekly market, we will experience the authenticity of local life as locals shop and socialize. Daily life continues in accordance with deep-rooted traditions, where riding donkeys is commonplace, noted by a 'Donkey Parking' area near the market.

During the tour, we'll explore stalls filled with fresh vegetables, exotic fruit, spices, and domestic utensils. You'll observe blacksmiths, welders, shoemakers, and barbers at work. The tour concludes at the market with an opportunity to enjoy some tea while taking in the scenery.

Before returning to Essaouira, we will visit an argan cooperative to learn about the production of this prized oil, known as the Gold of Morocco. This part of the tour includes insights into the extraction process performed by Amazigh women and a tasting of the oil.

After 3.5 hours, we will return to the starting point, concluding our immersion into Amazigh traditions.
