Discover Amazigh cuisine by attending this Moroccan cooking class in a traditional village near Essaouira.
Class Details
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at 287 Rue Oued El Makhazine, next to the taxi rank. We will head towards Haha Hills in the Essaouira countryside, known for its argan trees and the potential to see goats in the trees.
Upon arrival, we will visit a souk to gather fresh ingredients. After shopping, we'll proceed to a local house with an authentic Amazigh kitchen equipped with traditional utensils. Two local women will guide us in making Amazigh flatbread, from grinding barley to baking, and we will also prepare couscous in a clay pot. The session will cover essential ingredients for vegetable and goat meat tajin enhanced with olive oil and Moroccan spices.
Participants will enjoy the dishes prepared, with the option for outdoor lunch if weather permits, followed by fresh herbal tea. Before returning to Essaouira, there will be a visit to an argan oil cooperative to learn about its production.
This 7-hour tour concludes back at the original meeting point.
