Dare to take on the sky-high walkways of the famous Caminito del Rey on this day trip from Estepona. We'll get to cross a footbridge over the impressive Gaitanes Gorge!
Caminito del Rey Excursion
We'll pick you up at the selected time on Avenida Litoral in Estepona and begin our journey to the Conde de Guadalhorce reservoir, located in the province of Málaga, where the Caminito del Rey is situated.
After learning about the history of this path, inaugurated by King Alfonso XIII in 1921, we'll adjust our safety helmets. Then, we'll walk along the Caminito del Rey, whose wooden footbridge is suspended nearly 330 feet (100 meters) above the Guadalhorce River.
As we traverse this path, which is just over 3 feet (1 meter) wide, we'll take in panoramic views of the Gaitanes Gorge. The total distance will be 1.9 miles (3 km), taking approximately two and a half to three hours, with stops to enjoy the scenery.
We'll stop at several viewpoints for photographs of the Guadalhorce reservoir and the surrounding mountains. The route will conclude with a return to the starting point, where you'll have an hour to relax and can enjoy your picnic lunch.
Finally, we'll return to the meeting point in Estepona, arriving 10 hours after the start of the activity.
