We will meet at the Casa de Estremoz Tourist Office to start a guided tour of this Alentejo city.

We will walk along Rossio Marquês de Pombal street, admiring its marble houses, a result of the local quarries. Estremoz is noted as one of the largest marble producers in the world.

Next, we will visit the lake and fountain of Gadanha, significant for the army in the 18th century, followed by a stop at the pillory, where executions took place during the reign of Manuel I.

We will proceed to the medieval castle of Estremoz, exploring the history of its kings and nobles as we observe its facade and the notable keep, a marble structure standing at 27 meters high.

Our tour includes a visit to the Ermida de Nossa Senhora do Socorro, a 17th-century monastery of the Order of the Discalced Augustinians.

After two and a half hours of exploration, we will return to the starting point.
