Salcha, Delta Junction & Summit Lake Day Trip

On this day trip, we will explore the scenery of inland Alaska. The tour starts with a pickup from your hotel in Fairbanks between 8 and 9 am, heading south to see the natural treasures of interior Alaska.

We'll drive along the coastline of the Tanana River and make our first stop at a traditional carpentry store in Salcha to learn about birch wood carving. Next, we will explore the Big Delta State Historic Park, where we will view early 20th-century traditional houses and enjoy landscapes including Quartz Lake, Delta Flats, the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System, and the Delta Clear Water River.

Lunch will be in Delta Junction, allowing free time at a local restaurant. After lunch, we will visit Sullivan's Roadhouse to review the history of the gold rush in Alaska from the late 19th century.

Following this, we will enjoy views of the Black Rapids Glacier, where wildlife such as moose, buffalo, or caribou may be seen. The tour will conclude with a visit to Summit Lake, known for its natural beauty.

We anticipate returning to your hotel in Fairbanks between 8 pm and 9 pm.
