This day excursion to Salcha, Delta Junction, and Summit Lake invites you to immerse yourself in the stunning landscapes of inland Alaska, where majestic mountains meet the vibrant wildlife of the region.

Salcha, Delta Junction & Summit Lake Day Excursion

Your adventure begins between 8 and 9 am with a pickup from your Fairbanks hotel, setting the stage for a journey through the natural wonders of interior Alaska.

We will traverse alongside the Tanana River, taking in the verdant beauty that characterizes this pristine state. Our first destination will be a local carpentry store in Salcha, where you will witness the exceptional craftsmanship of birch wood carvings.

Continuing our exploration, we will arrive at the Big Delta State Historic Park. Here, the early 20th century comes to life as we observe well-preserved traditional homes. This area is not only rich in history but also showcases breathtaking vistas of Quartz Lake, Delta Flats, the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System, and the Delta Clear Water River.

If you find yourself hungry, we will pause at Delta Junction, where you can enjoy a leisurely lunch at a nearby restaurant. Once recharged, we'll proceed to Sullivan's Roadhouse, an ideal venue to delve into the intriguing history of the Alaskan gold rush during the late 19th century.

As we continue, expect to be captivated by the splendid scenery of the Black Rapids Glacier and the diverse wildlife that inhabits this region. Look out for moose, buffalo, and caribou that may grace your photographs. As the tour concludes, we will visit Summit Lake, an area renowned for its striking natural beauty.

We will complete our journey with a return to your hotel in Fairbanks, arriving between 8 pm and 9 pm.
