Join us as we fly to a city that became a major religious, cultural, and commercial center of the Roman Empire. Let's discover Ephesus!
Day Trip Details
After picking you up from your hotel in Istanbul, we'll head to the airport you have selected to board one of the first flights to Izmir. In about 60 minutes, we'll reach our destination.
Once we land, we'll proceed to Ephesus. Our first stop will be the House of the Virgin Mary, believed to be the last residence of the mother of Jesus Christ. This well-preserved building is notable for its restorations.
Our visit includes the ruins of Ephesus, a city dedicated to Artemis, and the Odeon, where the Temple of Hadrian, the House of Love, the Library of Celso, the Agora of Smyrna, Marble Road, and the Theatre once stood. This open-air museum reflects the Roman Empire's influence in Europe.
After enjoying a buffet-style lunch, we'll visit the Temple of Artemis, where only the ruins remain. Built among trees in honor of the Roman goddess, this site is considered one of the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World. We will discuss its significance to Ephesus inhabitants.
Additionally, you'll observe a blend of cultures in this area, as seen in the construction of the Isa Bey Mosque, which features an impressive marble facade.
Later, we'll return to the Izmir airport for our flight back to Istanbul. Upon landing, we will drop you off at your hotel.
