Hiking Tour: Capim Açu and Leão Beach

Are you prepared for an exhilarating day filled with outdoor activities? We will collect you from your hotel in Fernando de Noronha and take you to Sancho beach, where our 6.5-kilometer hiking journey will commence, leading to some of the island's most picturesque spots.

As we navigate the varied terrain, characterized by both ascent and descent, you’ll encounter numerous viewpoints offering stunning vistas of the diverse landscapes of Fernando de Noronha. Our path will lead us to the Sapata Lighthouse, a location that’s exclusively reachable via this trail.

From the lighthouse, we will then descend towards the Capim Açu cavern, a remarkable opening in the rocks where ocean waters filter through, creating an enchanting environment. Here, we will pause to explore its natural pools and soak in the atmosphere.

Continuing our trek, we will traverse another 3 kilometers along a volcanic rock path until we arrive at Leão beach, renowned as one of the island's most breathtaking stretches of coastline. This is also a habitat for sea turtles, which often nest in the sand here!

After a full seven hours of exploration, we will return you to your hotel.

Advance Booking Required

To participate in this activity, prior booking at ICMBio (Instituto Chico Mendes de Conservação da Biodiversidade) is mandatory.

Reservations can be made in person at the Visitors Center entrance ICMBio / TAMAR - Vila do Boldró, located within the National Park of Fernando de Noronha. The center operates daily from 3:30 pm to 7 pm. You may secure your booking up to 6 days in advance for a maximum group size of 6 people. We suggest arranging your reservation on your first day on the island.

Keep in mind to finalize this booking after confirming your entry to the national park.
