2 Day Morocco Desert Trip

Spend an unforgettable night in an Amazigh desert camp on a 2-day trip to the golden dunes near Merzouga.

Description

Day 1: Fez – Ifrane – Azrou – Erfoud – Merzouga

Depart Fez in the morning for Merzouga. Traverse the Middle Atlas Mountains and admire the beauty of cedar woods, teeming with Barbary Apes. Pass through Ifrane, known for its architecture and ski resort appeal. Visit Azrou, and continue through the Ziz Valley and past villages such as Midelt and Erfoud. From Erfoud, take a dirt road to Merzouga.

As dusk approaches, ride a camel to witness the golden dunes and arrive at a traditional desert camp for a Moroccan meal, followed by a night under the stars in an Amazigh tent.

Day 2: Rissani – Ziz Valley – Middle Atlas – Fez

Awaken early to enjoy a sunrise from a dune. Afterward, ride back to Merzouga for breakfast and a shower (depending on the camp type). On the return to Fez, stop at Tafilalt and Rissani, known for its connection to the Alawite dynasty. Watch for wild monkeys in the Azrou forests.

The tour concludes in Fez in the late evening.

Desert Camps

Two camp options are available: standard tents for up to 4 with shared facilities, and luxury tents for up to 5 with private bathrooms. A single supplement applies for solo bookings or individual room requests. Air conditioning in luxury tents incurs an additional 30 EUR per person.
