3 Day Merzouga Desert Private Day Trip

This 3-day trip to Merzouga from Fez allows you to experience the authentic Moroccan Sahara Desert and learn about its culture.

3-Day Tour Details

Day 1: Fez - Ifrane - Azrou - Erfoud - Merzouga

Depart from Fez at 8 am towards Merzouga. Journey through the Middle Atlas Mountains and visit Ifrane, known as “Little Switzerland,” and Azrou. Continue through Ziz Valley and Erfoud before arriving at your hotel in Merzouga for the night.

Day 2: Enjoying Merzouga Desert

Explore the Eastern Sahara on a 4x4, visiting nomad settlements, oases, and the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. Visit the village of Khamlia and enjoy the local Gnawa music. In the evening, ride camels to a Berber tent for an overnight stay.

Day 3: Rissani - Ziz Valley - Middle Atlas - Fez

Rise early to watch the sunrise from a dune, then return to Merzouga for breakfast and a shower. On the return to Fez, visit Tafilalt and Rissani, with a stop to feed wild monkeys in the Azrou forests. Return to Fez in the late afternoon.

Day Trip Transport

Transportation is provided in a Toyota Landcruiser with air-conditioning and an English-speaking chauffeur.

The tour offers two hotel categories: standard (2-3 stars) and luxury (4 stars).

Standard category:

Merzouga (first night): Riad Mamouche / Dar Tafouyte.Merzouga (second night): Amazigh desert camp.

Luxury category:

Merzouga (first night): Riad Nezha / Merzouga Guest House / Dar el Janoub / Riad Madu / Riad Azawad.Merzouga (second night): Luxury desert camp with private bathroom.

Standard haimas accommodate up to 4 people, luxury haimas up to 5. Both categories differ in food and decoration. Shared bathrooms may apply in high season.

No single occupancy is possible; supplements apply for solo bookings. Triple or family accommodations are available.
