Private Tour: 4 Days in the Sahara Desert

Day 1: Fez – Ifrane – Azrou – Erfoud – Merzouga

Your chauffeur will pick you up from your hotel to head to Merzouga, crossing the Middle Atlas and its cedar forests. You will pass through Ifrane, known for its ski resorts, and Azrou, a famous Berber town. You will continue through Ziz Valley and arrive at Erfoud before taking a dirt road to Merzouga, where you will spend the night in a hotel near the dunes.

Day 2: Enjoying the Erg Chebbi dunes

Explore Merzouga Desert using an off-roading vehicle, visit nomadic hamlets, and walk along Erg Chebbi dunes. Visit Khamlia village, known for its Gnawa music. In the evening, ride camels into the dunes and spend the night in a Berber tent.

Day 3: Merzouga – Todgha Gorge – Ouarzazate

Experience a sunrise atop a dune, then return to Merzouga for breakfast and a shower. En route to Ouarzazate, pass through Rissani and Tafilalet before reaching Todgha Gorge. Continue through the route of the thousand kasbahs to Ouarzazate for an overnight stay.

Day 4: Ouarzazate – Ksar of Ait-Ben-Haddou – Marrakech

After breakfast, visit the Ksar of Ait-Ben-Haddou, a famous fortified city. On the way to Marrakech, pass through valleys with almond trees and Berber villages. Ascend Tizi n'Tichka mountain, 2,260 meters high, and enjoy a traditional Moroccan meal before returning to Marrakech.

In Merzouga, camps have private bathrooms. Standard and luxury camps differ in food and decor. During peak seasons, standard accommodations may feature shared bathrooms.
