Description
Our adventure begins at 8 am in Vereda Lusitana de Filandia as we enter the Barbas Bremen nature reserve to delve into its unique plant and animal life. Let’s embark on our bird-watching excursion!
To kick off the day, we’ll savor a cup of Colombian coffee while discussing the history of the reserve and the conservation efforts that have established it as a haven for diverse species.
Our exploration will take us along the reserve's trails, where we'll encounter distinctive features of the Quindío region. Throughout our trek, we’ll pause to observe the various bird species inhabiting Barbas Bremen, including hummingbirds, tanagers, woodpeckers, streak-headed woodcreepers, warblers, and migratory birds that grace the skies.
Following our walk, we'll visit the reserve’s restaurant for breakfast. Refreshed, we will recommence our journey through Barbas Bremen, eagerly searching for toucans and other avian wonders!
On our route, there's a chance to spot additional wildlife such as howler monkeys, otters, deer, and various amphibians including the big-headed frog and the quimbaya harlequin. Before concluding our outing, you’ll have time to enjoy lunch in the vicinity.
We'll wrap up the day after 6 enriching hours of exploration.
