Would you like to discover the natural heritage of the Quindío region? In this bird-watching activity in the Barbas Bremen nature reserve, we will explore the biodiversity of this area of Colombia.
Description
At 8 am, we will meet in Vereda Lusitana de Filandia and enter the Barbas Bremen nature reserve for a bird-watching tour. We will start with a cup of Colombian coffee and discuss the history of the reserve and its biodiversity conservation efforts.
Participants will walk along trails of the reserve, observing the unique elements of the Quindío region. Stops will be made to watch birds, including hummingbirds, tanagers, woodpeckers, streak-headed woodcreepers, warblers, and migratory birds.
After our initial walk, we’ll visit the reserve's restaurant to pick up breakfast. Energized, we will continue searching for birds such as toucans and may encounter other wildlife, including howler monkeys, otters, deer, and amphibians like the big-headed frog and quimbaya harlequin. There will be time to enjoy lunch nearby before concluding the activity.
We will conclude the tour after 6 hours.
