Are you an outdoor enthusiast? If so, you won't want to pass up this hiking adventure through the Azuaje ravine, where we'll unveil one of the most enchanting regions in northern Gran Canaria.
Azuaje Ravine Hike Details
We'll kick off this hiking adventure from the Firgas bus station at the scheduled time, exploring a remarkable area in northern Gran Canaria. Our journey begins in the heart of Firgas, where we'll visit the San Roque church and learn about the history of the irrigation channel. A viewpoint will allow us to appreciate panoramic views from the coastline to the island's peaks.
As we continue, we'll descend into the Azuaje ravine. Along the way, we'll discover remnants of a spa frequented by English visitors in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, navigating across streams and varying terrain.
Emerging from the ravine, we'll observe local agriculture and livestock. Our return to Firgas will take us through the village center, visiting the Paseo de Canarias with stone replicas of the Canary Islands and the heraldic shields of each island. We will also explore the Paseo de Gran Canaria, admiring the coats of arms of the municipalities and an artificial waterfall.
After a captivating 4.5 hours of exploration, our hiking trip will conclude back at the starting point.
