Are you an outdoor enthusiast? If so, you won't want to pass up this hiking adventure through the Azuaje ravine, where we'll unveil one of the most enchanting regions in northern Gran Canaria.
Azuaje Ravine Hike Details
We'll begin this hiking adventure from the Firgas bus station at the scheduled time, exploring a notable area in northern Gran Canaria.
The journey starts in Firgas, focusing on the San Roque church and the history of the irrigation channel. We will pause at a viewpoint for panoramic views ranging from the coastline to the island's peaks.
Continuing, we will descend into the Azuaje ravine, where we will discover the remnants of a spa frequented by English visitors in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The terrain will include streams and varied landscapes.
Upon emerging from the ravine, we will encounter local agriculture and livestock, gaining insights into their characteristics. The return journey to Firgas will take us through the village center, including a visit to the Paseo de Canarias, featuring stone replicas of the Canary Islands, and the Paseo de Gran Canaria, where we will see the coats of arms of all municipalities along with an artificial waterfall.
After a typically 4.5 hours of exploration, our hiking trip will conclude back at the starting point.
