Tour Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Café Bar do Largo d'Alfândega to begin this free tour around Florianópolis. Once we're all together, we'll start exploring the historic centre, known as Floripa, and learn about its important monuments and buildings.
Who were the first inhabitants of the island of Santa Catarina? During the walk, we'll discuss the indigenous tribes that founded Florianópolis, tracing back to the 17th century, marked by the arrival of Portuguese colonisers and African slaves.
We will visit the Cruz e Sousa Palace, the former State Government headquarters, and November 15th Square. We will continue the exploration by walking around Largo da Alfândega to reach the Public Market. Next, we will view the façade of the Nossa Senhora do Rosário dos Homens Pretos Church and pass by the Álvaro de Carvalho Theatre, a significant monument.
Before concluding, we’ll walk down Hercílio Luz Avenue to arrive at Santa Bárbara Fort, both essential to understanding Florianópolis.
After 2 hours of guided visit, the Florianópolis free tour will conclude at the Miramar Memorial.
