At 7:30 am, we will pick you up at your hotel in La Fortuna and depart for the Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge.

During a two-hour journey, we will cross the San Carlos Plain towards the village of Los Chiles. This area, once home to fishermen and rubber workers, features local crops such as pineapple and sugar cane, important to the Costa Rican economy.

Upon arrival, we will board a boat for a ride along the banks of the Frío River, located on the border between Costa Rica and Nicaragua, making Caño Negro one of the country’s top wetland areas.

As a protected area for endangered species, hundreds of animals thrive near the river. During the cruise, expect to spot monkeys, sloths, iguanas, turtles, and caimans. Additionally, from February to April, numerous migratory birds are present in this enclave.

After a two-hour boat ride, we will enjoy a typical lunch before returning to La Fortuna, with an estimated arrival at your hotel around 3:30 pm.
