Excursion to the Fortuna River Waterfall

Visit the Fortuna River Waterfall

At the indicated time we'll pick you up at your hotel in Arenal and travel to the Fortuna River Waterfall Private Reserve, an important natural area in Costa Rica.

Upon arrival at the reserve, we'll walk through the forest of the Fortuna River Waterfall, learning about the area's biodiversity. After this short hiking route, we'll board a tractor-type vehicle that will take us to a viewpoint with views of the Fortuna River Waterfall.

From here, we'll walk back up a staircase made up of 500 steps, leading us to the base of the Fortuna River Waterfall. During the hike, we'll also have the opportunity to see native animals such as toucans, oropendolas, and butterflies.

Once at the waterfall, we'll admire its impressive 70-metre (230 feet) fall up close and, as a reward, you'll be able to take a refreshing dip in its waters. After this break, we'll return to the lookout point and head to the Maluku indigenous village, where we'll learn about their culture.

To complete the excursion, we'll enjoy a traditional Costa Rican meal. After recharging, we'll return to Arenal and drop you off at your hotel 6 hours later.
