Fortuna River Waterfall Excursion

We'll pick you up at your hotel in La Fortuna at the indicated time to begin our excursion. After about a five-minute drive, we'll arrive at the Fortuna River Waterfall Reserve, where we'll embark on a three-hour hike.

This reserve is managed by the Integral Development Association of La Fortuna to raise funds for the local community. The tropical forest that houses the Fortuna River Waterfall is part of the Arenal Volcano National Park and spans 210 acres.

Upon arrival, we'll visit the viewpoint for photos of the setting. Then, we'll descend approximately 500 steps to the base of the Fortuna River Waterfall. Keep an eye out for local wildlife, including toucans, oropendolas, and butterflies.

At the base, we’ll admire the 230-foot drop and have the opportunity to swim in the clear waters from the Children's Eternal Rainforest. Remember to bring your swimsuit!

After swimming, we'll return up the path to the top, where a snack of fresh fruit will be provided. We will then conclude the excursion by returning you to your hotel in La Fortuna.
