Fortuna River Waterfall Excursion

We'll pick you up at your hotel in La Fortuna at the indicated time to begin our excursion. After about a five-minute drive, we'll arrive at the Fortuna River Waterfall Reserve, where we'll embark on an unforgettable three-hour hike.

This breathtaking reserve is located in a natural area managed by the Integral Development Association of La Fortuna, aimed at raising funds for the local community. The tropical forest home to the Fortuna River Waterfall is part of the Arenal Volcano National Park and occupies 210 acres.

At the reserve, we'll stop at a viewpoint for photos. Then, we'll descend about 500 steps to the base of the Fortuna River Waterfall, where we may spot native animals such as toucans, oropendolas, and butterflies.

At the waterfall, we'll admire its 230-foot drop and have the opportunity to swim in the clear waters from the Children's Eternal Rainforest. A swimsuit is recommended.

After swimming, we'll return along the path to the top, where a snack of fresh fruit will be provided. We'll conclude the excursion by returning you to your hotel in La Fortuna.
