Night Hike in Frog Sanctuary

After pickup from your hotel in La Fortuna at 5 pm, we will travel for 30 minutes to La Tigra. The Méndez family will greet us to share their efforts in natural regeneration of plants and animals.

We will enter a forest of water mirrors, observing the nocturnal life of amphibians, insects, birds, and mammals in this ecosystem.

Following the shores of the lagoons, we will reach the frog sanctuary, where we will see various frog species, including the glass frog and the red-eyed frog. We will also find the largest (bullfrog) and smallest frog (hammerhead frog) in Costa Rica.

After interacting with the nocturnal wildlife, we will conclude our trek with a dinner cooked in a traditional wood oven while enjoying the San Carlos plain illuminated at night.

We will bid farewell to the Méndez family and return to your hotel in La Fortuna, arriving around 9 pm.
