Paddle Surfing on Lake Arenal

On this paddle surfing activity in the Arenal Lagoon, we’ll enjoy views of the cloud forests of Monteverde and Arenal Volcano while paddling through the water.

Tour Highlights

At the selected time, we’ll pick you up from your hotel and head to Lake Arenal for a paddle surfing experience. A briefing will be provided on how to maintain balance on the paddle board, with the option to paddle while sitting down.

We will paddle across the lake, surrounded by forest, for about 4 kilometers (almost 2.5 miles). It is notable that two villages were submerged underwater when the dam was built.

During the paddle, we may observe hummingbirds and quetzals. The Arenal Volcano, reaching 1670 meters (over a mile high), will be visible, along with the windmill field of Tierras Morenas in the distance.

Finally, we’ll return to shore to return all paddle surf equipment before dropping you off at your hotel approximately two and a half hours after pickup.
