Sloth Watching Park Visit

At the agreed time, we’ll convene just outside La Fortuna and prepare to encounter some new furry friends.

We'll venture into the park and spend between 1.5 to 2 hours exploring a trail that leads to the sloths, one of the country's iconic wildlife species. Whether they are hanging from tree branches, peeking out from behind leaves, or resting on the forest floor, you're bound to notice sloths throughout the park! Take note there are two species of these fluffy creatures in Costa Rica; challenge yourself to identify whether they are two-toed or three-toed sloths!

As we wander through the rainforest and observe the animals in their natural surroundings, you will learn about the park's commitment to adopting orphaned sloths and caring for those who have been injured. What better place to get acquainted with these adorable species?!

While observing these creatures closely during your sloth trail, remember that they might not be very lively! As indicated by their name, sloths are slow-moving animals that exhibit deliberate actions, with some spending up to 90% of the day quite still! You'll uncover many more intriguing facts about these fuzzy tree-dwellers during your tour... did you know they are surprisingly strong swimmers?!

HOW IT WORKS?

During this tour, you will:
Meet your guide just outside La Fortuna at the designated time.Explore trails in La Fortuna Sloth Watching Park for approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.Look for both two-toed and three-toed sloths and learn about their habitat and behavior.
