Castelli Romani Private Excursion

The tour begins at 9:30 am at the Frascati train station. We will travel by car to Castel Gandolfo, located 20 minutes away.

Upon arrival, a sightseeing tour will showcase the exterior of the Pope's summer residence. Notably, Alexander VII was the first bishop of Rome to vacation at the Papal Palace of Castel Gandolfo. The tour will also cover the contributions of Italian sculptor Gian Lorenzo Bernini to this site.

Next, we will drive along Lake Albano to Nemi, known for its scenic views. Afterward, we proceed to Rocca di Papa to view the facade of its 12th-century castle and discuss its history as the town that survived World War II.

The final stop is Frascati, where we will explore the historic center and visit a winery for a tasting of its white wine, paired with a typical Italian aperitif. We will explain how the volcanic soils in the region contribute to the local grape flavor.

The tour concludes at 12:30 pm back at the starting point.
