At 9:30 am, we'll meet at the Frascati train station and travel by car to Castel Gandolfo, just 20 minutes away.

In Castel Gandolfo, we'll take a sightseeing tour and see the exterior of the Pope's summer residence. Alexander VII was the first bishop of Rome to vacation in the Papal Palace of Castel Gandolfo. We'll discuss the contributions of Italian sculptor Gian Lorenzo Bernini to this structure.

Next, we'll skirt Lake Albano to reach Nemi, where we'll enjoy views of the hills. Afterward, we'll continue to Rocca di Papa to admire its 12th-century castle and learn about its resilience during World War II.

The tour concludes in Frascati, where we will stroll through its historic center and visit a winery for a tasting of white wine, accompanied by a typical Italian aperitif. We will explain how the volcanic soils of the region benefit vine cultivation and affect the local grape flavors.

After the tasting, the tour will end back at the starting point at 12:30 pm.
