On this stargazing experience at Roque de los Muchachos, we'll learn about the stars over La Palma and enjoy a magical sunset!
Activity Details
We'll pick you up from the meeting point in La Palma that you select and head to the highest part of the island. Here, you can spot thousands of stars from Roque de Los Muchachos at a height of 2426 metres (7960 feet). This area includes the Roque de Los Muchachos Observatory, home to the largest infrared optical telescope in the world.
Upon arrival, we will view the sunset from the peak and provide a glass of wine from the island. After dusk, we will move to a nearby viewpoint.
At the viewpoint, we will offer a guided explanation of the stars and constellations using a laser and an 11-inch Celestron telescope. We will explore solar systems, star clusters, nebulae, and galaxies. We will also discuss visible planets if applicable.
After an 8-hour journey, we'll return to the initial pickup points.
