Activity details

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel or meet you at Pier 8 of the Funchal Marina. We'll board the schooner to the Desertas Islands, which include Bugio, Deserta Grande, and Chão Island. These islands serve as an important reserve for Madeira's subtropical flora and marine biodiversity. Expect to see coloured rocks, steep cliffs, and clear water beaches.

As we sail across the Atlantic, we will enjoy the views of Madeira while departing from Funchal. A hot meal will be served on board to recharge before visiting the main island.

We'll disembark at Deserta Grande to explore its volcanic formations and rugged landscape. The island is known as a sanctuary for sea birds and monk seals.

During the excursion, you'll have the opportunity to swim and, conditions permitting, practice snorkelling to observe marine life. After exploring Deserta Grande, we will return to Funchal, concluding this 8.5-hour trip.

Hotel Pickup

This tour includes pickup from hotels in the Caniço and Garajau areas. Pickup is also available from Calheta and Ponta do Sol with an 11EUR supplement, payable in cash on the day of the activity. Alternatively, we’ll meet at Pier 8 in Funchal Marina.
