Activity details

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel or meet you at pier 8 of the Funchal Marina. We'll board the schooner to the Desertas Islands: Bugio, Deserta Grande and Chão Island, which are important reserves of Madeira's subtropical flora and marine biodiversity. Expect colourful rocks, steep cliffs, and clear water beaches.

As we sail across the Atlantic, we'll enjoy the calm ocean and the silhouette of Madeira while moving from Funchal. A hot meal will be served on board.

We'll disembark at Deserta Grande to explore its volcanic formations and rugged landscape. The island is a sanctuary for sea birds and monk seals, providing opportunities for spotting wildlife.

During the excursion, you may swim and, sea conditions permitting, practice snorkelling to discover marine life. After exploring the beaches and cliffs, we'll return to the schooner and head back to Funchal, concluding this 8.5-hour trip.

Hotel Pickup

This tour includes pickup from hotels in the Caniço and Garajau areas. Pickup from Calheta and Ponta do Sol is available with an 11EUR supplement, payable in cash on the day. Alternatively, meet at Pier 8 in Funchal Marina.
