Desertas Islands Schooner Cruise

At the indicated time, we'll meet at pier 8 of the Funchal Marina. There, we'll board the schooner for our journey to the Desertas Islands, which include Bugio, Deserta Grande, and Chão Island, known for its subtropical flora and marine biodiversity. Travelers can expect to see coloured rocks, steep cliffs, and clear water beaches.

During the sail across the Atlantic, we will enjoy the scenic ocean view and the silhouette of Madeira as we depart from Funchal. Onboard, a hot meal will be provided before we disembark at Deserta Grande.

Upon arrival at Deserta Grande, we will explore its volcanic formations and rugged landscape. The island serves as a sanctuary for sea birds and is home to several monk seals.

Throughout the excursion, participants may have the opportunity to swim and, depending on sea conditions, practice snorkelling to observe marine life. After our activities, we will return to the schooner and head back to Funchal, concluding this 8.5-hour trip at the same dock where we started.
