Curral das Freiras, or the Nuns' Valley, is a notable destination in Madeira, featuring a hiking route through stunning natural landscapes.
Nuns Valley Excursion
After picking you up from your hotel in Funchal at the scheduled time, we will head to the Picos dos Barcelos viewpoint for a brief stop to appreciate the panoramic city views.
Next, we will arrive at Curral das Freiras, a village in the Nuns' Valley, where nuns sought refuge from pirate attacks in 1566. The area is surrounded by rugged peaks.
The tour continues to the Eira do Serrado viewpoint, with a 30-minute stop to admire the spectacular views of the valley. The lush hills and whitewashed houses of Curral das Freiras create a picturesque scene.
Following the views, we will return to Curral das Freiras and travel back to Funchal by minibus, with a total duration of approximately 4 hours. You will be dropped off at your hotel.
Meeting point
This activity includes pickup from hotels located in the center of Funchal. For guests in remote areas or other parts of Madeira Island, pickup will be at Rua 5 de Outubro, 78 at the scheduled time.
