Tour Details
At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Funchal by jeep and head northeast to experience the natural beauty of this part of Madeira.
Our initial stop will be Pico do Arieiro, at 1,818 meters (5,964 feet), for panoramic views as it is the third-highest peak in Madeira.
Next, we’ll visit Santana, exploring its historic center after a drive along the Levada dos Balcões trail, surrounded by laurel forests, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
A visit to the Cova da Roda viewpoint will precede our arrival in the urban area of Santana, known for its triangular, thatched-roof houses, which have stood for over 250 years.
We’ll also explore Porto da Cruz to learn about the ancient processes that have made Madeira rum notable. The tour concludes at Ponta de São Lourenço, known for its volcanic hues and stunning cliffs.
After 7 hours, we'll return to the starting point.
