After being picked up from your hotel in Puerto Ayora, you will head to the highlands of Santa Cruz Island. You will ride a mountain bike and explore the biodiversity of the Galapagos. While cycling along mountain trails in the Cerro Mesa Ecological Reserve, you will see various plants and wildlife, enjoying views over the Galapagos archipelago from over 1200 feet (390 metres) above sea level.

Following the biking tour, you will travel to Playa de Garrapatero, a scenic beach. After settling on the beach, you will have a picnic lunch. The afternoon is free for you to explore Garrapatero Beach, observe local wildlife, participate in water sports, or sunbathe. A nearby lagoon offers chances to see flamingos and ducks.

After a day enjoying nature, you will return to Puerto Ayora and be dropped off at your hotel.

Important information

The mountain biking route is suitable for most people. You can choose to do the entire route by car by informing the guide on the excursion day.There is usually light rain throughout the year in Cerro Mesa.

Pickup

This tour includes pickup and drop-off service at around 7:45 am from the main hotels in Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz Island: Flamingo, Red Booby, Mainao, Galapagos Suites, Fernandina, Villa Laguna, Isla Sol, SolyMar, Angermeyer, and Royal Palm. You will be contacted to confirm the exact pickup time.

If your hotel is not listed, please go to the meeting point at Hotel Maidith White Cove for 8 am.
