Day Trip Details

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Santa Cruz Island and drive to El Garrapatero. After 40 minutes on the road, we'll reach our destination. This beach features almost 2 miles (3 kilometers) of golden sand, ideal for sunbathing and relaxation. You may spot sea lions and blue-footed boobies as your guide provides insights about the wildlife.

We'll follow a path through the mangroves to a brackish pool, where large flamingos forage for crustaceans, often accompanied by other wading birds like herons, stilts, and oystercatchers.

Next, we will take a break for a light lunch consisting of a sandwich, fruit, and a soft drink. After lunch, we'll continue walking along the shore, discussing the local area's flora, fauna and history, including the origins of the name of this location, which relates to the elimination of an insect.

Finally, we'll return to your hotel and conclude the trip after a total of 5 hours.
