Floreana Island Tour
- 8 Stunden
Discover the beautiful nature and fascinating history of Floreana Island on this day trip from Santa Cruz Island.
Description
At 7:45 am, we will pick you up at your hotel and drive to the south of Santa Cruz Island to the Puerto Ayora pier, from where we will depart for Floreana, one of the populated islands of the Galapagos.
The crossing will take 1 hour and 30 minutes, first arriving at Enderby Islet. There, you can see native birds such as boobies, gulls, and frigate birds. Snorkeling will be available if weather conditions permit.
Participants will have the chance to engage in fishing activities before heading to Las Cuevas. Floreana Island has a rich history involving whalers, pirates, and a family that chose to settle there, contributing to its notable fame.
After lunch, we will visit Punta Cormorant, located north of Floreana. This area features large sandy beaches of various colors and one of the largest flamingo lagoons in the Galapagos. This volcanic formation includes craters that house reefs, making it an excellent location for swimming and snorkeling.
We will return to Puerto Ayora at 4 pm.
