7-Day Luxury Cruise in the Galapagos Islands
Day 1: Arrival at Baltra Island - Transfer to Santa Cruz Island
Your journey begins at 10:20 am when we collect you from Baltra airport. A comfortable bus ride will take us to the port of Santa Cruz Island, where we will board our luxurious cruise ship for the upcoming week.
An exquisite first meal awaits on board, after which we will visit the Fausto Llerena Breeding Center in Puerto Ayora. Here, you will learn about the care of the Galapagos tortoises and uncover intriguing details regarding this remarkable species and the national park.
We will conclude our first day with dinner on the ship.
Day 2: Exploration of Eden Islet - Santa Cruz Island
Day two will focus on the northwest region of Santa Cruz, home to the untouched Eden Islet. This serene paradise is home to land iguanas and various seabird species. You will have ample opportunity to snorkel and experience the breathtaking marine life of the Galapagos National Park.
Later, we will enjoy lunch onboard and in the afternoon, a short hike to Dragon Hill awaits. This trek will take us to a saltwater lagoon frequented by flamingos and ducks, offering a chance for close encounters with these beautiful birds.
After a fulfilling day, we will return to the cruise for dinner.
Day 3: Tintoreras Islet - Isabela Island
After an appetizing breakfast, our voyage will lead us southward to Isabela Island, noted as the largest and one of the youngest islands in the Galapagos. We will hop onto a dinghy to explore the islet of Tintoreras, known for its large population of Tintorera sharks. With a bit of luck, we might also spot herons, sea lions, and Galapagos penguins.
Post lunch, we will continue our exploration by disembarking at Puerto de Villamil. There, we will visit the flamingo lagoon and follow the famed Wall of Tears, where we will delve into the poignant history of this site before heading back for dinner.
Day 4: Discovering Isabela Island
The fourth day is dedicated to uncovering the beauty of Isabela. We will commence with a hike around Punta Moreno, navigating a path formed by solidified lava flows, while admiring the coastal lagoons and observing the diverse birdlife in the mangroves.
After lunch, a zodiac cruise along the cliffs of Cala Tajo awaits. Subsequently, we will embark on a brief hike around the island leading us to Darwin Lake, where we will be rewarded with incredible panoramic views of the Galapagos volcanoes.
We will retreat to the cruise ship for dinner and recharge for the adventures to come.
Day 5: Fernandina Island - Isabela Island
After a satisfying breakfast, we will disembark at Punta Espinosa, Fernandina's prime observation spot. Did you know it is the third largest island within the Galapagos National Park? Expect to witness many iguanas and the world's sole flightless cormorant species here.
During lunch, we will cross the Bolivar Channel and arrive at Vicente Roca Point, situated on the northwestern edge of Isabela. Impressive sea caves, towering cliffs, and the majestic silhouette of the Ecuador Volcano will mark the end of the fifth day. If desired, you can take a refreshing swim before dinner!
Day 6: Santiago Island - Rábida Islet
We will head to Santiago, particularly Puerto Egas, after breakfast. Here, you will discover the dark hues characterizing this landscape that sharply contrast with the reddish shades of Rábida Islet, which we will explore after lunch.
In the evening, we will relax and savor dinner on board.
Day 7: Departure from Santa Cruz Island - Baltra Island
On our final day, we will visit the Las Bachas beaches on the north coast of Santa Cruz. At one beach, we will spot sea turtles, flamingos, and iguanas. At the other, you will encounter two abandoned ships from World War II, remnants from the time the United States utilized this region as a strategic location to safeguard the Panama Canal.
As our cruise comes to a close, we will conclude this extraordinary journey by transporting you back to Baltra airport for your return flight.
