South Plaza Island Day Trip

Travel through one of the most spectacular corners of the Galapagos on this day trip to South Plaza Island from Santa Cruz Island. We'll see native species such as hybrid iguanas and boobies in a film-like setting.

Day Trip Details

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel on Santa Cruz Island. We'll take a 45-minute bus ride to the Itabaca Channel, where we will board a boat to South Plaza Island.

Upon arrival, we may be greeted by several families of sea lions at the island's dock. We'll disembark to observe blue-footed boobies and iguanas resting under cacti, including hybrid iguanas, the result of mating between marine and land iguanas.

Next, we will visit Punta Carrión, a small bay for snorkeling to explore Galápagos marine life. A stop will be made for lunch consisting of salad, meat or fish, and rice or potatoes.

Continuing our route, we will reach a cliff featuring reddish vegetation covering the rocks, providing a panoramic view. On our return to the dock, we will stop at a beach housing one of the largest colonies of sea lions in the Galapagos. After 8 hours enjoying this paradise, we will conclude the trip at the starting point.
