Join us on this tour to the Middle Ages in which we'll explore the castles of Connemara. We'll visit Kylemore Abbey and Aughnanure Castle.

Castles of Connemara Guided Tour

At the indicated time, we'll meet at Galway Cathedral. Once gathered, we'll board a bus to discover one of the treasures of Connemara - its castles. First, we'll head to Aughnanure Castle, located near Lough Corrib. Here, we'll learn about the O'Flahertys, a prominent noble family in the 16th century, while exploring the remains of the banqueting hall, watchtower, and bastions.

Next, we'll travel through the Inagh Valley to Kylemore Abbey, a wedding gift from politician Mitchell Henry to his wife. Participants will have an hour of free time to explore the abbey, including the Victorian gardens and Gothic church.

After leaving Kylemore, we'll briefly stop near Ballynahinch Castle for a souvenir photo and view the famous Sky Road along the way. Finally, we will return to the starting point 8 hours after the tour begins.
