Charming villages, historic landmarks and spectacular natural landscapes: discover the breathtaking beauty of Ireland's west coast on this tour of Connemara and the Wild Atlantic Way from Galway.
Tour Details
We'll meet at the entrance to Kinlay Hostel in Galway and board a bus to begin our adventure on the Wild Atlantic Way.
Travelling west along Galway Bay, we'll pass through the picturesque towns of Barna, Furbo, Spiddal and Inverin, showcasing the Connemara region.
We'll visit Bothar na Scragoige, then make a brief stop in the coastal town of Roundstone and nearby Dog's Bay Beach.
The next stop will be Derrygimlagh Bog, which was a center of communications and aviation in the early 20th century.
Continuing along the Wild Atlantic Way, we'll pass through Clifden, the capital of Connemara, and reach Sky Road, renowned for its ocean views.
During the next 3 hours, you can choose between a tour of Connemara National Park or visiting the exterior of Kylemore Abbey, commissioned by politician Mitchell Henry as a wedding gift for his wife Margaret.
After regrouping, we'll traverse the Twelve Bens and Maumturk mountains and the Inagh Valley, viewing the Connemara Giant and visiting the Quite Man Bridge, our final stop.
This 9-hour tour concludes back at the departure point in Galway.
