This hiking adventure to the Chinyero volcano offers a unique opportunity to appreciate the stunning landscapes of Tenerife's most recent volcanic crater while delving into the fascinating characteristics of this geological area.

We will convene at the designated time at the Plaza de la Libertad in Garachico. Following initial introductions, a minibus will transport us to the Arenas Negras Recreational Area, marking the beginning of our hiking journey to the Chinyero volcano.

The hike will span approximately 4 hours, allowing us to immerse ourselves in the breathtaking scenery of the Chinyero Special Nature Reserve. This exceptional environment is sure to leave a lasting impression!

While trekking, we will uncover numerous intriguing insights about this volcanic landscape and the early exploration of the Canary Islands. We’ll also reflect on the significant 1909 eruption of Chinyero and its impact on Tenerife and nearby regions. Throughout much of our trek, the majestic presence of Teide, the tallest mountain in Spain, will accompany us.

As we wander through this volcanic reserve, you will revel in the crisp air and have countless opportunities for stunning photographs of the solidified lava flows that mark the terrain. The striking contrast between the dark soils of Trevejo and Chinyero volcanoes and the vibrant green of the Canary Island pines will surely captivate your senses.

We will incorporate breaks to relax and fully appreciate the natural vistas that surround us.

Following the completion of our hiking journey, we will head back to the vehicle, concluding our experience approximately 6 hours after our departure.
