Chinyero Volcano Hiking Tour

Meet at the Plaza de la Libertad in Garachico at the scheduled time. After introductions, board a minibus to the Arenas Negras Recreational Area, the starting point for the hiking route to the Chinyero volcano.

The hike lasts approximately 4 hours in the Chinyero Special Nature Reserve. Participants will learn about the volcanic site and the discovery of the Canary Islands, along with information about the 1909 Chinyero eruption and its impact on Tenerife. The impressive silhouette of the Teide, Spain’s highest peak, will be visible throughout the route.

While hiking, enjoy the fresh air and take photos of the solidified lava flows in the reserve. The contrast between the black earth of the Trevejo and Chinyero volcanoes and the green of the Canary Island pines will be notable. There will be opportunities to rest and appreciate the surrounding natural landscapes.

After completing the trek, participants will return to the vehicle and conclude the activity approximately 6 hours after departure.
