Chinyero Volcano Hiking Tour

At the indicated time, we will meet at the Plaza de la Libertad in Garachico. After introductions, we will board a minibus to the Arenas Negras Recreational Area, where we will begin the hiking route to the Chinyero volcano.

The hike will last approximately 4 hours in the Chinyero Special Nature Reserve. During this time, we will discover various facts about the volcanic site and the discovery of the Canary Islands, including the eruption of Chinyero in 1909 and its impact on Tenerife. The Teide, the highest peak in Spain, will be visible throughout most of the trail.

Participants will experience fresh air and have opportunities to take photos of the solidified lava flows in the reserve. The contrast between the black earth of the Trevejo and Chinyero volcanoes and the green of the Canary Island pines will be notable. There will be stops to rest and enjoy the natural surroundings.

At the end of the trek, we will return to the vehicle and conclude the activity at the starting point, approximately 6 hours later.
