La Asunción & Macanao Day Trip

On this day trip to La Asunción and Macanao, we'll discover two key attractions of Margarita Island, featuring forests, nature, and tropical beaches.

Description

This day trip will start with a hotel pickup, followed by a visit to the city of La Asunción. We will tour its streets, including Plaza Bolívar, the Nueva Cádiz Museum, the Cathedral of La Asunción, and the Monseñor Nicolás Navarro Culture House.

Next, we will visit the Santa Rosa de la Eminencia Castle for historical insights and stunning views over the valley. Afterwards, we will travel to the Macanao Peninsula, observing natural landmarks such as the Tetas de María Guevara. We will explore Laguna de la Restinga National Park, where we will board a boat to sail through the mangroves and spot local birdlife.

After half an hour, we will return to the mainland and tour the north of Macanao in 4x4 vehicles. We will visit the tropical beaches of Auyama and El Coco, surrounded by endemic vegetation. We will then have a typical Margarita Island lunch at a restaurant on Punta Arena beach. Following lunch, we will explore Boca Chica Lagoon and the Fortín de la Galera, ideal for sunset viewing.

We will conclude the tour with a return to your hotel, lasting between 10 and 11 hours.
