La Asunción Tour & La Sierra Trekking

Climb to the highest peak of Margarita Island on this trekking route through La Sierra. In addition to exploring its nature, we will visit La Asunción.

Description

Discover the nature of Margarita Island. At the scheduled time, we will pick you up at your hotel and start an adventure to explore the island's tallest mountain.

Initially, we will travel in a comfortable minibus to La Asunción, the capital of Nueva Esparta, to visit its key monuments, including Plaza Bolivar, the Cathedral of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, and the Casa de la Cultura Monseñor Nicolás Navarro.

After La Asunción, we will climb the tallest mountain on the island, where a variety of fauna and flora exists. During the ascent, we will stop at a cocoa plantation to learn about the local processing of one of Venezuela’s most prized products.

Upon reaching the La Sierra trail, we will undertake a 2-hour trekking route to the peak, with several stops at viewpoints for comfort. The effort will be worthwhile!

At the top of La Sierra, we will enjoy views of Porlamar and Margarita Island and visit the Basilica of Our Lady of El Valle, the island's patron saint. To regain energy, we will head to a restaurant for a traditional lunch featuring a fish empanada.

After this, we will return to your hotel following a 5 to 6-hour tour.
