Description
Are you ready to explore the intriguing nature of Margarita Island? At the scheduled time, our team will meet you at your hotel to commence an unforgettable expedition up the island's highest peak.
To start, we will board a comfortable minibus and head to La Asunción, the capital city of Nueva Esparta, where we will explore its notable landmarks. Our first stop will be Plaza Bolivar, home to the striking Cathedral of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción and the Casa de la Cultura Monseñor Nicolás Navarro.
After our time in La Asunción, we'll begin the ascent of the highest mountain on the island, surrounded by diverse fauna and flora. During this climb, a visit to a cocoa plantation awaits us, offering a glimpse into the local craftsmanship of one of Venezuela's cherished products.
Upon reaching the entrance of the La Sierra trail, we will commence a 2-hour trekking journey to the summit. The hike will include various pauses at scenic viewpoints to ensure a comfortable experience. The effort put into this journey will undoubtedly be rewarding!
Once at the peak of La Sierra, a breathtaking panorama of Porlamar and Margarita Island will greet us. We will also take time to visit the Basilica of Our Lady of El Valle, the revered patron saint of the island. To recharge, a delightful traditional meal featuring fish empanada will be served at a local restaurant.
After savoring this delicious lunch, we will conclude our 5 to 6-hour adventure and return you to your hotel.
