Blumenau & Pomerode Excursion
- 9 Stunden
Learn about the history of German immigrants in southern Brazil with this tour to Blumenau and Pomerode from Itajaí - two cities in the European Valley!
Blumenau & Pomerode Excursion
We'll pick you up at your hotel in Itajaí at 8:30 am and take the Rio Itajaí-Açu highway to Blumenau. On the way, you'll see Germanic architecture as we pass through Ilhota and Gaspar.
In Blumenau, a city founded by German immigrants, you can experience many European customs. The world's second-largest Oktoberfest is held here.
We'll visit the Beer Garden and then see the Town Hall, formerly a train station, and the Cathedral of São Paulo Apóstolo. We'll also enter Vila Germânica, the park that hosts Oktoberfest, and have a stop for lunch on your own.
Next, we'll head to Pomerode, another town of German origin. Enter through the Portal Wolfgang Weege, a main attraction. We will visit a typical porcelain workshop, the Immigrant Museum, the zoo, and Vila Encantada, to discover the prehistoric past of this area.
We will conclude the excursion at a craft brewery, where you can taste local beer. Finally, we'll return to Itajaí and drop you off at your hotel around 5:30 pm.
