Annecy and Geneva Tour

Annecy is known as the “Venice of the Alps.” On this guided tour, you will explore this beautiful French city and then enjoy a panoramic tour of Geneva.

Itinerary

We will meet in the center of Geneva before taking the bus to Annecy in the French Alps.

We will start our guided walking tour of the city, which was governed by the House of Savoy. Annecy is famous for its canals, earning it the nickname the ‘Venice of the Alps.'

Strolling through the medieval streets, we will discover the long history of the city, particularly its role in the counter-reformation and its significance as a bastion for the Catholic Church against John Calvin’s influence.

The 45-minute tour includes visits to notable sites such as the Château d'Annecy castle and the Island Palace, which served as a prison during the Renaissance and World War II.

After our tour, you will have 2 hours of free time to explore the historic quarter and enjoy lunch at your choice of restaurant (food not included).

Following this, we will return to Switzerland for a panoramic tour of Geneva. From the air-conditioned bus, you will see city attractions including the United Nations, the flower clock, and the symbol of the city, the Jet d'Eau.

We will conclude the day with a ride on the mini tourist train through the historic quarter of Geneva.

Important information

The tourist train does not operate in January and February. Cancellations may occur for reasons outside the organizers' control; if canceled, the old town tour will proceed on foot.

Please be prepared to show ID documentation when crossing the border; a valid passport is required.

Type of Guide and Group Size

A guide is guaranteed for groups of 10 or more. If fewer than 10, a driver will provide commentary.
