Annecy and Geneva Tour

  • 7 Stunden

Annecy is known as the “Venice of the Alps”. On this guided tour, you will explore this French city and enjoy a panoramic tour of Geneva.

Itinerary

We will meet in central Geneva before taking the bus to Annecy in the French Alps.

The guided walking tour will cover the city, formerly governed by the House of Savoy. Annecy is celebrated for its canals, earning it the nickname ‘Venice of the Alps.'

During our stroll through medieval streets, we will learn about the city's history, particularly its role during the counter-reformation as a bastion against John Calvin's influence from Geneva.

The 45-minute tour includes visits to key sites like the Château d'Annecy castle and the Island Palace, which served as a prison in past centuries.

After the tour, you will have 2 hours of free time to explore the historic quarter and have lunch at local restaurants (food not included).

Following the break, we will return to Switzerland for a panoramic tour of Geneva. From the air-conditioned bus, you will see major attractions such as the United Nations headquarters, the flower clock, and the Jet d'Eau.

To conclude the day, we will enjoy a ride on the mini tourist train through Geneva's historic quarter.
