Stunning panoramas of Lake Geneva, UNESCO-designated terraced vineyards, and a medieval fortress await on this Montreux Day Excursion from Geneva.
Montreux Day Excursion
At the designated time, our journey commences from the bus station in Geneva, heading east toward Montreux. We'll drive along the scenic banks of Lake Geneva, a notable natural boundary between Switzerland and France.
Our first destination will be Corsier-sur-Vevey, a charming village nestled in the Swiss canton of Vaud. This delightful location houses Chaplin's World, a unique museum dedicated to the legendary actor. Please note that entry to the exhibition is only included during the winter months.
Continuing our exploration, we will venture to the terraced vineyards of Lavaux. These stunning hillside vineyards are recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. During the summer, there will be an opportunity to savor an aperitif amidst this breathtaking landscape.
Our next stop is the Château de Chillon, where we will tour this majestic medieval fortress perched along the shores of Lake Geneva. This impressive castle has inspired many poets throughout its storied history, including the renowned Lord Byron!
Upon concluding our visit to Château de Chillon, our route takes us to the heart of Montreux. Here, you will have about two hours of free time to enjoy lunch and capture photos of the iconic Freddie Mercury statue located by the lake.
In closing, we will make our way back to Geneva, expected to arrive at our starting point between 6 pm and 6:30 pm.
