Why visit the Biosphere?

The Biosfera, or Biosphere, is one of the undisputed icons of Genoa and a staple in the city's skyline. This ticket will give you access to this monument, also known as the La Bolla, or 'the bubble,' designed by famous architect Renzo Piano. This glass sphere located in Genoa's Porto Antico houses a zoo and a tropical garden. Inside you'll find a recreation of a small jungle with butterflies, iguanas, and up to 150 types of tropical plants including ferns, banana trees, and rubber trees. These species thrive thanks to modern facilities of the Biosphere that allow sunlight to enter, providing optimal conditions for the plants.
