In this demonstration of how to make Genoese pesto, you'll learn about one of Italy's popular sauces in the Palazzi dei Rolli.
Description
At the scheduled time, we'll meet on the second floor of the Palazzo Imperiale, located at Piazza Campetto 8A. From there, we'll walk to the Palazzo dei Rolli, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
We will explore the main rooms of the palace and learn how to make Genovian pesto, also known as pesto alla genovese. This recipe originates from the province of Liguria and is commonly used with pasta, pizzas, and appetizers.
During the workshop, a chef will demonstrate the preparation of authentic Genoese pesto. We will go through the process step-by-step, focusing on essential ingredients such as basil, garlic, cheese, and pine nuts.
After the preparation, we will taste this pesto pasta with focaccia and a glass of Ligurian wine.
At the end of 3 hours, we will conclude the workshop at the entrance of the palace, where you will receive a certificate for participation.
