Visit the Girona Art Museum
The Girona Art Museum hosts a collection of significant art pieces from the province. It is situated in the old Episcopal Palace, classified as a Historic-Artistic Complex. The site includes areas historically used as prison spaces for condemned clergymen and gardens that open seasonally.
Visitors can explore an array of artworks and sculptures displayed in chronological order. A dedicated room features liturgical art, including pottery and glass. The permanent collection encompasses works from the Diocese of Girona, Provincial Council, and Generalitat de Cataluña art funds, including collections of Romanesque and Gothic art. Notable altarpieces consist of the Pubol and Cruïlles altarpieces, as well as Renaissance pieces attributed to Joan de Burguña and Pere Mates.
